(Battle at Käsattometon)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aetys Osim (pron. eight-iss oh-sim) was a general for the First Great Empire during the Thousand Years War. Legend says at the age of 18 he swam from his homeland of Ichor across the Kälna sea to Kandar and trekked all the way through to Telamir where the headquarters of the First Great Empire was located just to join up and fight. A passionate soldier, he quickly rose to the rank of general and fought for at least 200 years alongside his fellow FGE soldiers. He cared deeply for his officers, both those alongside and under him. However, he was a great general and never let emotion cloud his judgment on the battlefield. He had a famous habit of choosing notorious “softies” for his second in command, just to bring balance to his squadron. He was quite handsome in his younger days, with sharp features and a chiseled jaw. He had medium length brown hair that curled at the ends, bouncing off of his shoulders occasionally. He grew into a rugged warrior as he aged, but it is said that his bright green eyes never lost the fire of youth.

Aetys remained calm, his short, stubbly, gray beard framing thin lips that betrayed nothing of what he was thinking. He looked down his sharp nose at the officer, wrinkling the tan, leathery skin of his forehead as his long, stringy hair blew in the wind.” (Käsattometon, 23754 FGE)

He became a powerful and accomplished spellcaster, mastering many different forms of magic. At some point during his travels he came into possession of the magical greatsword Velitel, a blade holding fantastic power. His conquests are legendary, and he was known to turn the tides of massive battles single-handedly. Not many had the courage to stand up to him, and those that tried, even the ones who put up a good fight, always seemed to perish.
